There's a buzz around town about putting the animal products down! And for all the right reasons. Having a fully plant based diet offers countless benefits. With personal experience as a former raw vegan, I am here to share my experience and the facts behind the craze.
1. Disease Prevention
Studies show that animal proteins feed the cancer cells in our bodies, especially unhealthy animals filled with hormones. The long list of conditions a proper vegan diet fights off includes Heart Disease, Diabetes, Breast Cancer, Colon Cancer, Arthritis and Osteoporosis.
2. Vitamin Intake
A fully plant based diet can offer a higher natural intake of many essential vitamins without the use of as many vitamin supplements. Vegetables, grains, nuts, beans and seeds are full of Antioxidants, Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Phytochemicals, Potassium, Magnesium, Protein, Fiber and Carbohydrates.
3. More Energy
Many athletes these days are switching over to a vegan diet, and finding the results well worth it! The increase in natural vitamin intake (iron, magnesium, calcium) will make you feel lighter and full of energy, unlike the fullness you get after a heavy meal with meat and dairy.
4. Increase In Sex Drive & Libido
Now I've got your attention! Foods rich in Zinc and Vitamin B elevate testosterone levels and boost sexual desire in the brain. A vegan diet changes the body's chemistry, making bodily fluids smell and taste sweet. There is a lot of discipline and will power to maintain a vegan diet, imagine the dedication and energy a vegan will bring into the bedroom. Hot, Hott, HOTT!!!
A diet high in Vitamin A and E (nuts and vegetables) plays a huge role in healthy skin. You will also find your hair and nails getting stronger, and those extra pounds you've been trying to shed will begin to fall off much easier. As your pH becomes balanced, you will start to look and feel as you've always desired.
6. Animal Rights
Beyond all the wonderful health benefits of a vegan diet, there are always those looking out for our furry friends. The way animals are tortured in animal mills is very sad and sickening. Avoiding animal products from animals in these mills not only prevents you from consuming antibiotics and hormones or getting salmonella or E. coli, but also is a silent protest against these farms.
I am a fan of the vegan diet done correctly, but every body is different. I think everyone should give it a go and see how their body reacts, even if used as a simple cleanse. Eat clean, be healthy, and honor mother nature the way she intended!
