What kind of person should consider doing a cleanse? The answer is everyone and anyone in the modern world. Drinking your breakfast may not sounds so great at first, but understanding how it could change your life should be enough to motivate you to give it a try.

5 Reasons to Try a Cleanse:

1. Eliminate Environmental Toxins From Your Body

In the modern world it is nearly impossible to escape toxins. We find them in our air, water, cosmetics, foods, cleaning products and body care products. It is important to pay close attention to what we are using, as well as rid our bodies of these toxins often. Indigo Children are especially sensitive to environmental toxins so elimination and cleansing is a must.

A few weeks back I attended Dr. Junger’s workshop at the Full Circle Venice temple and learned a lot about his history and his CLEAN program. One of the amazing things about the workshop was that Full Circle made cleansing a community project. Community plays such a big role when you decide to take on a life change such as a cleanse or diet change. Surround yourself with like-minded, supportive people!

My mother convinced me to try drinking juices after I told her about my research. I’ll say this; the very first juice is never easy to swallow. As my diet started to get cleaned up I could really feel a difference. I knew I was ready to juice cleanse. Thank the Angels I had been lead to work at True Food Kitchen in Santa Monica at that time, so I was constantly around healthy food and people.

I started off with about six green juices a day. Some were horrible because I really didn’t know what I was doing. But I experimented. (Note to readers: do not put radish in your juice, because it tastes like nasty rotten produce.) I would drink a new juice every hour or so. I did eat some raw alkaline vegetables in between, such as celery or cucumber. After three days I continued to drink juices and eat mostly raw. My body completely transformed. My pain levels went from a 9 to a 2-3. My flare ups eventually ceased. I was sleeping through the night without tossing and turning. The medications that my doctor had given me for my condition had nothin’ on nature’s medicine.

  1. I’d like to add to the conversation that if you take in a massive amount of juice youre also taking in a massive of potassium. Sounds great but not if youre not balancing your diet. I once consumed so much homemade organic juice without adding salt (sodium) that my entire immune system crashed it took me two years (still on going ) to put my body back in order. The balance of potassium to sodium is highly important. I changed two things that have grossly improved my life. I started adding Himalayan sea salt and fat to everything even my super green smoothies. I add good fats… those avacados are great…I also use coconut oil and real grass fed butter to the mix. I have also stopped having the super green smoothies before noon. I have no carbs at all for breakfast. I eat a fat buttery tea (like bulletproof coffee but with tea and no caffeine for me) and protein. Life and health are about balance. Even too much juice can be a bad thing out of balance with the other foods youre taking in all day. Lots of good real food, carbs, proteins, and FAT makes the body great!
